Pan-Seared Sesame Salmon with Garlic Butter Shrimp

Ingredients
For the Salmon:
2 salmon fillets (6-8 oz each, skin-on preferred)
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp sesame seeds (white or black)
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
For the Garlic Butter Shrimp:
½ lb large shrimp (peeled & deveined)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp lemon juice
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt & black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)
For Serving (Optional):
Steamed jasmine rice or quinoa
Sautéed greens (like bok choy, spinach, or asparagus)
Lemon wedges
Instructions
1. Marinate the Salmon
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, and sesame oil.
Brush the marinade over the salmon fillets and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
Sprinkle both sides with sesame seeds, salt, and black pepper.
2. Sear the Salmon
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Place salmon skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes, until crispy.
Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove from the pan and let rest.
3. Cook the Shrimp
In the same pan, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Toss in the shrimp, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
Squeeze in lemon juice and garnish with parsley.
4. Serve & Enjoy!
Plate the salmon with the shrimp on the side.
Serve with rice, greens, and lemon wedges.
